When "Newcomers" Get in the Way of Reelection
Just when you think that the Democrats’ desperation level to get Joe Biden reelected could not get any higher, along they come with something new. This one is really kind of a no-brainer when you think about it. According to just about any poll you look at, the top issues in 2024 for voters are the economy and immigration. Millions of illegal aliens have poured across the border since Joe Biden became President. It has brought unprecedented amounts of criminals who have raped, murdered, and committed other crimes against American citizens, huge amounts of illegal drugs like fentanyl that we have never seen before, and suspects on the terror watch list coming across the border in record numbers. And for three years Joe Biden didn’t bat an eye.
There is something else that many polls are also saying, that Americans think Donald Trump did a much better job with immigration and securing the border than Joe Biden could ever dream of. A recent Marquette University poll says that voters think Trump did a better job on immigration by a whopping 27 percent. A recent Fox News poll showed that “seven in ten voters say the White House has ‘mostly failed’ at improving border security.” Joe Biden is even catching heat from House Democrats. Thirteen of them recently passed a resolution denouncing Biden administration immigration policy. So, what do you do when you are Joe Biden, and you are hearing it even from your own party about the never-ending stream of illegal aliens coming across the border? Pretend you care that’s what.
On Tuesday, Joe Biden issued an anticipated executive order, which essentially does absolutely nothing to curb mass illegal immigration. But first, he made sure to blame Republicans for the disastrous chaos he and his administration have created saying, “Today, I’m moving past Republican obstruction and using executive authorities available to me as President to do what I can on my own to address the border.” So, see if you can follow this fuzzy liberal math. In what is nothing more than a blatant election-year move, the order temporarily suspends the entry of non-citizens across the border, once the number of border encounters exceeds 2,500 a day for seven days, the suspension will stay in effect until 14 days after there has been a seven-day average of less than 1,500 border encounters. This is supposed to make it easier for Border Patrol to remove those who have no legal reason to remain in the country. Of course, there are exceptions. They include visa holders, unaccompanied children which is a separate issue on its own, and victims of a “severe” form of trafficking, aren’t most forms of trafficking severe? Also excluded are those who face an acute medical emergency, or an imminent threat to life and safety. But the best part, those who use the CBP One app, will be allowed entry to the tune of about 1,500 per day.
Since there is literally no one who thinks that Joe Biden is actually running the country, we are left to believe that whether it is Obama holdovers, or someone else, they have known exactly what they are doing when it comes to the southern border. It is the same crowd that has rambled on about the “fundamental transformation” of the country. Call it the great replacement theory, or whatever you want to call it, but it is happening. In his first few hours in office, Joe Biden rolled back every successful Trump-era immigration policy. He didn’t care if they worked or not, didn’t care if they were keeping the country safe. Joe Biden rolled back Trump policies because they were Trump policies. He didn’t do it because he had a fundamental disagreement with them, Joe Biden has put this nation in extreme jeopardy by letting in millions of people we have no way of knowing who they are, all because of his hatred for one man.
For the past three years, it has been primarily Republicans who have sounded the alarm on the disintegration of the border while Joe Biden and buffoons like Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas insisted that “the border is secure, the border is closed,” and blamed the crisis on Republicans for not passing a disastrous bipartisan Senate bill. Joe Biden can blame Republicans all he wants, but this week’s executive order and the reasons for it are not fooling anyone. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) said, “By my count, he’s issued 94 executive orders since he’s been President of the United States. But he waited until today to actually do what he calls effective action on the border. And my question to him is, why did you wait until now if you were serious about doing it? The simple answer is he’s not serious about securing the border.” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), as usual, explained it as no one else can saying, “It’s a little late, you can’t make this cat walk backwards. He also threw in the fact that Joe Biden is “polling right up there with fungal infections.”
Desperate people do desperate things. The Biden campaign is counting on the fact that if they can snow enough voters into thinking they really are “fixing” the border, there might be an outside chance they can drag the shell that is Joe Biden across the finish line in November. Good luck with that. The American people have had plenty of time to compare Donald Trump’s immigration plan with Joe Biden’s. It is becoming more and more clear that they are not interested in Joe Biden’s way too little way too late fake concern about the border.
