The Kind of Election Democrats Are Afraid of the Most
There has been a lot of censorship about exactly what sort of “irregularities” occurred on election night 2020. Here is what led up to it. I am going to say what I think happened. Some will agree, some won’t. Donald Trump had the American economy booming like no other time in history. Unemployment was down in nearly every category, minorities, women, and young people. Crime was down, inflation was low, and energy prices were down. America was respected abroad, and her enemies had a healthy fear of crossing her. Democrats, the left, the deep state, whatever you want to call it because, at this point, it is quite obvious they are all the same, knew that Trump would walk into reelection in 2020. They had to do something. Enter COVID, surely most people know by now that was orchestrated as well, and massive voter fraud and cheating to rig the election, install Joe Biden, and get rid of Trump.
Republicans have had four years to chew over what happened, analyze it, and make damn sure it never happens again. For starters, there are new sheriffs in town at the Republican National Committee (RNC). Over are the days of Ronna McDaniel and losing with honor. Ronna will have to find other ways to fund her hair and make-up. New at the helm of the RNC are former North Carolina Republican Party Chair Michael Watley and Lara Trump. At first, I thought bringing Lara Trump on board was a bit of nepotism, but I’m sorry, the hell with politeness and playing fair. Judge Jeanine Puro summed it up recently during analysis of Donald Trump’s Manhattan trial, “this isn’t lawfare, it’s warfare.”
On Monday, the RNC issued a press release announcing the launch of “Protect the Vote.” Watley and Trump described it as “a nationwide initiative to recruit poll watchers, poll workers, and legal experts to mobilize during the 2024 election season. The Protect the Vote tour will champion election integrity, rally voters for President Trump, and train volunteers to ensure that it is easy to vote and hard to cheat in November.”
While Protect the Vote is nationwide, the drive is first focusing on key swing states, coincidentally, the states where the most election shenanigans occurred the last time. The tour will kick off in Michigan on June 14, then head to Pennsylvania on June 18, North Carolina on June 20, and Georgia on June 26. Other states are expected to be added to the tour schedule. The Protect the Vote initiative appears to leave no election stone unturned, with every aspect of what went wrong the last time being looked at and retooled. It is all part of the RNC’s boots-on-the-ground game plan. But it is a game plan where Republicans had better realize that they are not only going to have to play the game as well as Democrats, they have to play it better.
The top priority is to recruit at least 100,000 new poll watchers, poll workers, and legal experts well ahead of the election. The idea is to be ready for any Democrat “oddities” that might occur. Back in April, the RNC identified five different areas that needed addressing. They are, Logic and Accuracy machine testing, early voting, election day voting, mail ballot processing; focusing on adjudication and duplication, and post-election; focusing on canvassing, audits, and recounts. In the period leading up to election day, every legal action that can be pursued will be, to ensure secure and transparent elections, and ensure voter confidence. Every poll watcher, worker, and legal expert will receive the proper training and will oversee every ballot that is being cast and counted.
The RNC is spot on when they sum up the goals for this massive but necessary initiative. “Democrats across the country have promoted election systems that are open to fraud, encouraged noncitizens to vote, and used our tax dollars for their GOTV activities. Rather than fixing their failed policies, they have focused on dismantling election integrity efforts.” Thankfully, many state legislatures have overhauled their election laws, and have gotten rid of things like ballot dropboxes and other COVID-era election practices that did nothing but invite cheating.
The shake-up at the RNC is a welcome thing to see, both in personnel and procedures, and many conservative talking heads and pundits all seem to think that things are headed in the right direction. But there is still one thing that is concerning. What is not talked about very much, is that no matter what Republicans tweak on their end, what is missing from the conversation, is the knowledge that Democrats will cheat does appear to be being added into any election integrity equation. We can have all the lawyers we want, but if they are not watching out for outright fraud being committed, that’s a problem. There is also the fact that as far back as February, the lefty website “The Atlantic” floated the notion that some House Democrats might refuse to certify the 2024 election if Trump wins. Of course, it would only be because of their ethical standards, not feeling they could certify the election of a “convicted felon.” Just one problem, Democrats have tried to stop the certification of every Republican presidential win since 2000. That makes it a well-documented fact that should it happen, “ethics” has nothing to do with it.
The new name of the game at the RNC seems to be to want to win. We know what Democrats are doing. We can even figure out how they are doing it. All we have to do is just do it better. The last three years should be more than enough motivation to do just that.
