Joe Biden's Desperation: The Media is Too Soft on Trump
Even some of the staunchest Democrats are now acknowledging the writing on the wall, that things are not looking good for Joe Biden. Things that once worked for Joe, like hiding in his basement, and the media running perpetual cover for him are just not working anymore. The reason for that might be something Joe was lacking four years ago, a record. No matter how fast they spin, Democrats just cannot convince Americans that what they experience every day at the grocery store and the gas pump, is not really happening. And now, Joe is getting a bit testy with the one group that has always ran interference for him. Incredibly, that would be the mainstream media. Apparently, they are just being too soft on Donald Trump, and Joe is calling them out on it. Wait what?
On Monday, Joe Biden told his mainstream media stenographers exactly how he felt about them going squishy on Trump. In an interview with the New Yorker, he reminded the media again, that Donald Trump is an “existential threat” to democracy, and that he doesn’t believe that the media are taking that threat very seriously. Ironic that Joe Biden is so worried about “democracy” while he and the rest of the Democrat Party actively attempt via the judicial system, to get Trump thrown off the ballot in several states. Because nothing screams “democracy” more than trying to get your chief political opponent disqualified from the election. Fortunately, also on Monday, the Supreme Court took care of those attempts by declaring them unconstitutional. Now, the pressure is on the media to do the job of taking down Donald Trump. Biden told the New Yorker, “It’s like you’ve all become numbed by it.” The media is numb to Donald Trump? Tired of throwing everything but the kitchen sink at him to take him down and nothing works maybe, but numb?
Perhaps Joe Biden has been too busy making money off the Chinese the last few years to notice that, the media began to talk about impeaching Trump the day he was inaugurated in 2017. In those four years, impeachment went to the Russia hoax, to the first impeachment over his phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, to the second impeachment over Jan. 6, and everything in between, even a snarky evaluation of how many scoops of ice cream Trump had for dessert, versus how many scoops for his guests was provided courtesy of CNN. But Joe Biden wasn’t done just yet. In typical pathological liar fashion, Joe seems to think that if he just repeats things enough times, they magically become true. He still floats the idea that Trump endorses violence. He discussed Trump’s “America First” agenda and continued with the New Yorker saying, “How can we, as a democracy, elect anyone President who says violence is appropriate?” Did he add that tidbit assuming that the media will dutifully report it as fact, probably. And putting America first is violent?
Besides beginning the impeachment movement on day one in 2017, the media, or at least a representative of the media, did something else that seemed to give them free rein to officially abandon even the semblance of objectivity. Jim Rutenberg was a media columnist for the New York Times. In August of 2016, he wrote a column, where he argued that biased coverage of Trump was justified. The gist of Rutenberg’s argument went something like this, because Trump was often rude, bombastic, and politically incorrect, and “conducting his campaign in ways we’ve not normally seen,” the media was in no way obligated to cover Trump fairly and objectively. Voila, the age of Trump media coverage was born.
It is highly unlikely that no one is going to tell Joe, but at this point, his record is so abysmal, and his poll numbers are dropping faster than Hunter’s pants at the sight of hookers, that the media would literally have to do gymnastics to keep covering for him in their usual way. The Biden campaign team is reduced to running on Jan. 6 and “democracy.” Mike Donolon is a White House advisor, and actually said that, by November, Americans are going to be focused on…wait for it…January 6, 2021. Yes, that’s right. Never mind the fact that your grocery bill has gone up, at least, 20 bucks, and that is if you are lucky, and you make sure to fill your gas tank up when it is still half full. No, none of that will matter. Only Jan. 6 and “democracy!” Obama architect David Axelrod rightly sneered at that thought and snarked, “I’m pretty certain in Scranton they’re not sitting around their dinner table talking about democracy every night.”
Joe Biden’s buddies in the mainstream media have spent almost a decade, trashing Donald Trump, his family, and his business, in every way imaginable. They have gone so far as to question former First Lady Melania Trump’s immigration status, to a “Saturday Night Live” writer in 2017, not the media, but given SNL’s left-wing bent, maybe a media wannabe, saying of a then-10-year-old Baron Trump, that he “will be this country’s first homeschool shooter.” But Joe Biden says the media is too soft on Donald Trump? Makes you wonder how horrifying too hard might be.
There is a very good chance that Donald Trump will be reelected in November. Surely, there cannot be one conservative who believes that the treatment he has received at the hands of the mainstream media is going to get better. In fact, expect it to get exponentially worse if you can wrap your head around that. It will be at that point, that we have passed being numb, and gone straight to downright chilling.
